MOTHER IN LAW PART 11

The unimaginable was about to happen. I stood behind Patrick and saw as mama entered the house and fell on her knees and started apologizing.  She started sobbing heavily but we were told to leave her. She narrated the story of how they travelled for consultations to put Patrick under her armpit. She doesn't want to loose control over her son and that as a wife I was disturbing her. The confessions went on and on. She also spoke about the pregnancy that was terminated in their evil world………. And lastly the keke napep boys were her boys.

The whole plan was just her stage and everything was working out well for her. I started crying also; not for mama but for all I’ve been through in this short period of my marriage. All that was supposed to be blessings came out in an opposite way. Baba consoled us and told us not to permit her come close to us again. The way she feels now is temporal, he said. When the spirit comes again, the envy arises.

We thanked Baba as he left. Mama left too and we entered and thanked God. The next day my husband’s phone rang with an unknown number and surprisingly it was mama. Patrick was sarcastic in response when he discovered who it was but with what mama said sympathy has to be shown. She slumped outside the gate but has been revived. When Patrick ended the call he was contemplating either to go or not when his phone rang again. Baba was on the phone and he said, that was the spirit again. We shouldn’t go anywhere. The spirit of mother in law is an envy spirit. A spirit of jealousy and not letting go. Now you can see why I said at the beginning of my story that to me Patrick is an orphan. We are relocating to Canada where there is no mama…….

NB: It was an anticipated trip but an unexpected occurrence. The village was in the south western part of Nigeria. The man was turning 60 and the story was real. I went there to enjoy and cover the events. I could have used a flight to cut the journey but with the fear our airspace have developed lately; road was the answer. The story is lovely and it’s coming out soon anyway. The twist came when I discovered that network was an abomination in the village. It comes like a thief in the night. I sincerely apologize to my esteemed readers for the break in transmission and promise to make it up to you. The next story has been prepared and it’s titled: HIS EX GIRLFRIEND……. I pray you all have a lovely week. I celebrate you
